Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM Technology (CVHPT) is the most advanced electrosurgical energy wave developed for surgery and endoscopy today. CVHPT is more precise and quicker than robotic surgery.
WEM Microprocessed Electrosurgical Unit / WEM Argon Plasma Coagulator systems deliver the Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM beam that results in the simultaneous cutting and coagulating of biological tissues.
Since the introduction of CVHPT (Mar. 2012), the technology has been successfully used in most surgical subspecialties (i.e. General Surgery, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastics, Surgical Oncology, Ginecology, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery). Our data shows that CVHPT has significantly reduced intraoperative blood loss and postoperative blood transfusions for Orthopedic joint replacements. The blood transfusion rate has decreased to less than 5% using CVHPT compared to the national rate 25% to 40% for primary and up to 65% with revision of joint replacement. Surgeons have also shown a 30% to 40% reduction in operative time using Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM Technology.

Plasma consists of a collection of free moving electrically charged particles of electrons and free radicals. Knowm plasma gases in the Earth’s atmosphere include He (helium), Xe (xenon), Ar (argon), Ne (neon), Kr (krypton) and Ra (radon).
Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM Technology integrates high frequency monopolar current with an inert plasma gas to deliver a plasma beam that cuts and coagulates biological tissue simultaneously.
CVHPT is delivered via the Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM Scalpel. The Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM Scalpel is the first smart multifunctional electrosurgical handpiece in the world, incorporating four separate operating modes: Hybrid Plasma Cut, Argon Plasma Coagulation, Conventional Cut and Coagulation.
Surgeons can remotely adjust the power setting via the handpiece during surgey. The Canady Vieira Hybrid PlasmaTM Scalpel can deliver a precise beam less than 1.0mm in diameter and a depth of injury as low as 0.1mm.
