The CVHP (Canady Vieira Hybrid Plasma) Griff pen, a WEM's product with low bleeding rates due to its Electrosurgical System, which cuts and coagulates with the use of argon gas, entered the Brazilian market this year. According to reference customers, the use of the pen in several procedures conducted in clinics and hospitals in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná, among others, has shown very positive results.

“The feedback from our customers shows that the CVHP Griff is surprising plastics, head and neck, orthopedics, and liver surgeons”, informs Vilma Peixeiro, WEM's marketing and commercial manager. Product sales are growing in Brazil, considering this is a more advanced energy form for the use in current electrosurgery, more precise and rapid than robotic surgery.

After approval from the FDA in the first semester of 2012, the multifunctional disposable pen was first launched in the United States in a partnership with an American company. In that important market, the pen is being successfully used in most of the surgical specialties. Griff sales to the Unites States already represent around 40% of all WEM's exports in 2013, and the Latin American, Asian and Middle-Eastern countries are increasing their purchases.

Researches conducted prove that the use of the Griff CVHP reduced the rate of blood transfusions during surgeries to less than 5%. The consulted surgeons also stated that the surgery procedure time has decreased around 30 to 40%. “We are confident with the regular pen sales growth in the Brazilian market for the next years. It combines WEM's most innovative technology applied to electrosurgery‘, states Vilma.
