The CVHP Griff Pen, a product launched in Brazil this year by WEM Equipamentos Eletrônicos, was the major centerpiece of the company in the 40th Gastrão – Update Course in Digestive System Surgery, Coloproctology, Transplantation of Digestive System Organs, and Endoscopy. The event occurred between July 3 and 5 at the Centro de Convenções Rebouças in São Paulo and for another year it has received the sponsorship of WEM.

In its stand, WEM showed several products, such as the Microprocessed Electronic Electrosurgical Unit SS-601 MCa compatible with Integrated Room, the Microprocessed Electrosurgical Unit SS-501 SX, the Argon Plasma Coagulator Argon 4, the Electrosurgical System SS-200E + Argon 2, and the CVHP Griff pen (Canady Vieira Hybrid Plasma).

The CVHP Griff pen integrates a monopolar current and inert gas in order to generate a low temperature plasma beam that cuts tissues and causes coagulation at the same time. When used together with the Microprocessed Electrosurgical Unit and the Argon Plasma Coagulator, it becomes the first intelligent, multifunctional, and manual device in the world that incorporates four different modes of operation: argon plasma cut, argon plasma coagulation, conventional cut, and conventional coagulation.

Gastrão is a traditional and respected event in the medical industry that enables discussions with the presence of experts in the area. “Our purpose is to create possibilities of professional improvement and educational development in the field of digestive system surgery to young resident physicians and surgeons of the entire country”, reports Prof. Ivan Cecconello, coordinator of the 40th Gastrão and director of the Digestive System and Coloproctology Division of HCFMUSP.
